National Survey on Recreation and the Environment (NSRE) 2005

NSRE 2005 will be the ninth in the continuing series of the U.S. National Recreation Surveys and the third NSRE survey. Surveys for NSRE 2005 are underway and the planning continues through module development and explorations of potential additional partnerships. NSRE 2005 respresents an expansion in NOAA's participation with additional modules in the areas of boating and the use of charts, marine protected areas, and potentially others.

Status

Versions 1-3 (15,000 interviews) have been completed out of the total of 50,000 interviews. Uncertain funding is still an issue, resulting in uncertainty with regard to the ability to complete the full 50,000 planned interviews and all the modules.
